“Detection of Enhancement of 02 Transport: Seven Years of Progress” was the topic for the 8th Annual USADA Symposium on Anti-Doping Science, hosted by the U. S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) October 2-5 in Vancouver, B.C.
The Partnership for Clean Competition (PCC) – which aims to ensure integrity in sport by supporting high-quality, high-impact, novel research – is now accepting pre-applications for its third round of 2009 grant funding from researchers interested in applying for anti-doping research funding.
USADA performed a total of 2,581 doping control tests in the second quarter of 2009. Of those tests, 2,286 were domestic tests and 295 were tests administered on U.S. and non-U.S. athletes in the United States on behalf of other anti-doping and sports organizations.

The Partnership for Clean Competition (PCC) announced today the awarding of its first anti-doping research grant since the research collaborative was formed in 2008. The recipient of the $500,000 grant is J. Thomas Brenna, Ph.D., of Cornell University for his grant proposal titled, “Characterization of the Human Urinary Steroidome for Anti-Doping Applications.”
