Today, four-time Olympian, three-time Olympic medalist, and TrueSport Ambassador Lauryn Williams testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation during a hearing on Current Issues in American Sports: Protecting the Health and Safety of American Athletes. The hearing was held to discuss a number of sports-related topics that fall within the Senate Committee’s jurisdiction, including efforts to promote athlete safety and clean sport.

During her testimony, Williams explored why clean sport matters to athletes and society as a whole, while also explaining the high standards that athletes are held to in the United States, referencing her years spent filing Whereabouts and completing no-advance-notice testing at all hours of the day. Williams’ testimony followed presentations by other experts in the fields of sport and medicine.

Williams’ oral testimony can be found here, and more information about her work as a TrueSport Ambassador is available here.
