USADA logoThe U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) is pleased to announce that Skip Gilbert has joined USADA as its Managing Director of Operations, Marketing, and Development. Within this capacity, Gilbert will oversee USADA’s Olympic Testing and Client Services operations, while also supporting marketing and development efforts for the organization’s TrueSport division.

An experienced executive, Gilbert has served in leadership roles with a number of sports organizations over the course of his career, including Tournament Manager of the US Open, Chief Executive Officer of USA Triathlon, Chief Marketing Officer of USA Swimming, and the Vice President of Sales for US Soccer. During his time with these organizations, Gilbert spearheaded athlete-centric initiatives, led strategic planning efforts, and managed compliance operations with USADA and the U.S. Olympic Committee.

“Skip brings more than a decade of experience in the Olympic world to USADA, along with valuable insights into the sports ecosystem and the athlete experience, all of which will help ensure that USADA can continue to collaborate with stakeholders and meet the needs of athletes,” said USADA CEO Travis T. Tygart. “We’re confident that Skip’s leadership and diverse skill set will enhance USADA’s operations and ultimately benefit stakeholders across the board.”

Having sold millions of dollars of media and sponsorship contracts throughout his career, Gilbert will play a particularly important role in helping TrueSport identify and secure valuable partnerships that will allow it to grow its impact on youth sport culture across the country.

A true team player and leader, Gilbert played soccer for the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL, the US Olympic Development Team, and in England, Holland, and Hong Kong. He is a licensed soccer coach and was elected into the University of Vermont and the Lawrenceville School Athletic Hall of Fame. Gilbert joined USADA on December 3, 2018 and will relocate to Colorado Springs with his wife Jenifer and their three children.
